We are delighted to announce that Keith Rodwell has been appointed as the new chair of our board of trustees.
Keith has served as a trustee since 2023 and brings a wealth of leadership and business experience as CEO of property asset management company REIM.
He has a long-standing personal connection to LDN London. His mother, Shirley Rodwell MBE, was among the founders of the organisation in the early 1960s, and Keith was introduced to the charity as a child.
Commenting on his appointment, Keith said:
“I am honoured to be taking on the role of Chair of LDN London. I follow in the footsteps of Lynne Peacock, whose leadership over the past decade has been outstanding. Lynne guided the organisation through significant challenges, including major changes in the social care sector and the COVID-19 pandemic, and is leaving LDN in a strong position for the future.
I am fortunate to be working alongside such a committed and experienced senior leadership team, led by our CEO, Gabby Machell, as well as a highly dedicated board of trustees.
A key part of my role will be to support Gabby, her team, and colleagues across the organisation. Our staff do an incredible job in demanding roles, and as a board we are committed to ensuring they have the best possible environment in which to succeed.
Looking ahead, we will continue to plan for the long term to ensure that LDN London is well placed not just for the next few years, but for the next decade. This includes embracing proven technologies and new ways of working that can help us deliver even better outcomes for the people we support.
My ambition reflects that of the parents who founded this charity over 60 years ago: to ensure that people with learning disabilities have access to the very best opportunities and support. While much has changed, there is still more to be done. LDN London will continue to advocate strongly and provide the highest quality care, improving lives for people with learning disabilities across London.”
