Our vision
Our vision is to enable learning disabled Londoners to stay healthy, be safe, and to live well in a society where people with learning disabilities are valued as equal citizens having the chance to make full use of everything their community has to offer just like everybody else.

What we do
Learning Disability Network (LDN) London is a charity which supports adults and children with learning disabilities and their families across London.
We help across 7 boroughs: Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington, Camden, Harrow and Southwark.
We give a wide range of support from a few hours per week to 24 hour care. This includes supported living, domiciliary care, outreach, respite, family services and community support. We enable people we support and their families to choose what’s best for them.
We make sure people feel valued, respected and empowered.
Our story
LDN London (formerly The Westminster Society) was founded in 1962 in Marylebone, London, by six women, who wanted a better life for their children and other people with learning disabilities. Because they lived in a society which discriminated against people with learning disabilities, giving them few opportunities, they created a charity to change things.
The photograph opposite is one of the founders of LDN London (formerly the Westminster Society), Vi Mullins and her son Steven who was one of the first children to be supported by us. Since then the charity has grown considerably and has expanded to support both adults and children. Today, we deliver services in Westminster, Camden, Islington, Harrow, the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, and Southwark. We provide registered care, supported living, intervention and preventative services, short breaks, community services, and domiciliary care. We also provide family support services through our Family Support Worker and Early Help Service.

Our values
People with learning disabilities have the right to live with respect and dignity. They should receive the support they want and need.
Our values guide us in how we support people:

People are included as a valued part of the community.

People have choice in the decisions about their lives.

People are treated with dignity and respect as valued individuals.

People can achieve their dreams and their aspirations.
