Our trustees
We are governed by a Board of Trustees. They make sure that LDN London is run in a way that reflects our values. They check our work to make sure that LDN is well run and we reach our objectives.

Meet our trustees
The wide range of experience of our board members is important for us – for delivering the right support for people with learning disabilities now and in the future.
Our trustees bring a great deal of knowledge and experience. They are experts in different areas, including in the voluntary sector, company and charity law, finance, and have personal connections with learning-disabled people and their families.
The board meets five times each year.

Keith Rodwell
Chair
Keith joined as chair of LDN London in 2026. He is a qualified architect and previously was an associate with PKS Architects and went on to work in-house for Hilton across Europe and in London. He is currently the principal of REIM, a real estate investment house. He has extensive experience in management and leadership. Keith and his family have had a long association with LDN London.

Emma Baird
Emma is originally from New Zealand and moved to London in 2016. She has spent almost 10 years as a lawyer, specialising in corporate M&A, commercial law, and tech and advertising law. She is passionate about helping support others, and is also a Board Director for Girls in Tech.

Adam Bharucha
Adam qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG having joined as a school leaver. After spending almost 10 years as an auditor of listed companies, he now works in-house, specialising in accounting and reporting.

Jim Blair
Jim is Consultant Nurse in Learning Disabilities for West London NHS Trust, and previously worked at Great Ormond Street and St George’s hospitals. He is also Associate Professor of Intellectual Disabilities at Kingston University and St George’s, University of London.

Martin Haarmans
Honorary Treasurer
Martin is a private equity executive with extensive senior management experience. Martin has previously worked with Goldman Sachs in London and qualified as a chartered accountant from KPMG in Australia.

Ian Jackson
Ian’s career has been primarily in financial services, with additional experience in marketing, operational roles, as well as senior risk and compliance positions. Voluntary experience includes school governor roles, local environmental groups and mentoring.

David Luscombe
David has retired after 40 years supporting clients to deliver their new property aspirations, including major projects at Parliament. For seven years he was the chairman of a company which developed 25 new schools.

Jeff Mendzil
Vice Chair
Jeff has worked at a senior level in financial services in product, marketing and supplier management. He has also been a community fundraiser for two national charities as a volunteer.

Lindy Shufflebotham
Lindy has over 30 years of leadership experience in health and social care, including delivering services for people with learning disabilities and people with mental health issues. Most recently, she has served as a health commissioner, focusing on community-based alternatives to hospital care for people at risk.

Theresa Shortland
Theresa has over 40 years of experience as a strategic leader in delivering public services for children and families. She is driven by a commitment to high-quality and inclusive services that enable children and families to flourish and access the support they need. She has volunteered as a school governor, a mentor and in advisory roles.
