How to get involved

You could support people with learning disabilities who are trainees in our LDN Eats programme.

Or you could support one of our events, such as our Spotlight On series, which raises awareness about issues that impact people with learning disabilities.

Or you could volunteer at our Community Hubs, passing on your skills to people in the community who get little support.

Many businesses first get to know us through volunteering.

Below are some ideas if you want to dip your toe in and find out more about us:  At LDN London we help people with learning disabilities to live independently in their community and achieve their goals.

Every pound you raise will directly support:

Life skills workshops at our Community Hub for people with learning disabilities who get very little help daily.

One-to-one support for families of children with SEND.

Employment training for our LDN Eats team to develop their careers.

Volunteering opportunities

Many businesses first get to know us through volunteering.

Below are some ideas if you want to dip your toe in and find out more about us:

Skills based volunteering

Using your in-house skills and expertise, run a workshop at our Community Hub, a supportive place for people with learning disabilities to learn skills and socialise. You could help people to learn a skill around employment, budgeting or IT.

We’d love for you to pick something

Hands on support volunteering

Support our team to deliver one of our arts, fitness or social sessions at the Community Hub or with our family team. This is a great way to get to know us and enables our team to lead new and innovative sessions where extra support is required.

Out and about volunteering

Help our Community Hub members to go to cultural events and activities like concerts and museums. We would love for some extra friendly faces to support the group to travel and enjoy events in London. It’s vital that people we support can get involved in what the city has to offer.

Cheer point volunteering

When our supporters take up challenges – like Swim Serpentine or the London Marathon to raise vital funds for our work – we want them to be supported every step of the way. Cheer point volunteers are stationed along the route with branded t-shirts to encourage and help participants keep going.

Volunteering opportunities in our services

Many of our residential services welcome support with improving their gardens or smartening up the interiors. If you take part in these opportunities you will work with the service manager and sometimes people we support to make a big difference in just a day.

Case study: 4C Group

“As a proud charity partner of LDN London, the 4C Group shares in LDN’s mission to empower those with learning disabilities to live fully realised lives. Our partnership stems from shared values of community building, integrity, collaboration and care – values we actively cultivate within our team and guest relations and strive to spread throughout our community.”
