About the role:
LDN London is an award-winning charity with over 60 years’ experience of supporting people with learning disabilities to stay healthy, be safe and live well.
We have a fantastic opportunity for several experienced support workers to join our new supported living service in Camden which is located near Kentish Town tube station.
The service is a 5-bed supported living accommodation which supports people with moderate to severe learning disabilities varying from autism to complex needs. This is an all-female service. We are looking for experienced female support workers who have a good understanding of how to support people with complex needs. Support workers need to work flexibly to provide support through the day and the night.
The role will be working with people who need assistance with their daily lives. Some of the tenants use wheelchairs and require physical support therefore we are looking for people with experience in doing moving and manual handling. It is essential that all applicants have strong communication skills to help support people who are non-verbal or those who are not as vocal.
People want to be part of the community and to develop independence skills and so understanding the principles of doing with and not for is important. The role requires applicants to have an understanding and experience of providing personal care to people with learning disabilities. This must be delivered with dignity, care and respect.
The post holder must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. As a self-starter, you will be able to use your own initiative, can problem solve and prioritise, with good planning and organisational skills. In addition, you will need a positive, resilient attitude, be able to work under pressure, and be flexible and adaptable.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge!
What does Support Work involve?

Staff testimonials
A friend mentioned LDN London to me. The website and job information talked about the
different things that I would gain instead of just what I would be doing. Despite it being quite tough at some points, I like being part of a team that helps individuals with their different needs. Overall I believe that LDN London is a great company to work with as they support you in any way possible.
LDN London is a great organisation to work for, that cares about, and supports its employees. Career development opportunities and training are available, and you’ll meet managers and support workers with varied skill sets and you’ll have the opportunity to learn from them. Most importantly LDN London team members make every day fulfilling for the people they support. I know my work is making a positive impact and helping each individual to grow, gain skills, and work towards their independence.
What brought me to LDN London was a career where I could help others. It turned out that I met many wonderful people. I have also had the opportunity to learn new things and develop interpersonal skills. LDN London offers a clear path for further development and promotion. This is why I want to continue along this path, and I am excited to see where this journey takes me.
LDN London is a good company as they always support staff via regular training and one to one supervision. One thing that impressed me the most about LDN is that they promote and support teamwork among staff members. Furthermore, staff remuneration in LDN is better than most care agencies in London and beyond. I have worked for other organisations, but none compared to LDN London, the staff are so friendly and professional.
