Time for you
Part of Learning Disability Network for London
This service is for any adult with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism and complex long-term health conditions. Our short breaks include building based support at Alison House and Kingsbridge Road and can also provide outreach support within your family home and in the community.
Our outreach teams offer help in many ways such as with day-to-day personal and practical tasks (getting up / going to bed, getting washed and dressed, preparing meals etc.) or by helping to access interests and hobbies, education and employment.
We match you and your family with a skilled and experienced worker, arrange regular meetings as it is important that you get to know each other and we learn how you like to do things. All of our short break staff receives regular training so you receive the highest quality service. We offer a high level of flexibility including the option to bank hours, so you can access a longer break if that meets your needs.
Accommodation based short breaks are available at Alison House in Westminster and Kingsbridge Road in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
Short breaks enable people with a learning disability to continue living in the family home as it offers temporary accommodation and specialist support to people who experience a crisis in their care or where a family require a break from their caring responsibilities.
We also recognise that short breaks are important for our guests too as they enable the chance to take a short holiday, catch up with friends and peers and participate in both building based and community activities.
Referrals for these services are via learning disability social work teams in Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
